Marietta City Schools attorney Clem Doyle will receive a $3,000 increase in his $9,500 monthly retainer to represent the system.

The district’s board of education this week approved the increase, the first in eight years.

Doyle’s hourly rate will increase from $160 to $180 per hour. Doyle also represents Cobb County and Clayton County Schools.

Cobb County’s system, which is more than 10 times larger than Marietta’s, pays $77,000 monthly.
