Marietta Power crews are helping to restore power to Crisp County residents in Cordele, following the devastation of Hurricane Michael.

A third crew of seven linemen was sent Oct. 19, replacing a crew from Marietta Power that had been onsite.

“There is still a lot of work remaining,” according to the city’s website at MariettaGa.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1969.

Hurricane Michael slammed into the Florida Panhandle at Mexico Beach on Oct. 10 - the same day as the national observance of “Imagine a Day Without Water” in appreciation of the infrastructure established to deliver that clean water.

Now along with electrical power, clean water is in critical demand in the Florida Panhandle and southwestern to middle Georgia since the infrastructure destruction resulting from Hurricane Michael.
