Marietta Board of Education members voted 5-0-2 Tuesday to install a school safety integration system to Marietta High School, Marietta Middle School and Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, involving the city’s police department.

Absent were Vice Chair Jason Waters of Ward 2 and Tom Cheater of Ward 6.

Securadyne Systems will be paid $277,558 from the special purpose local option sales tax to assemble and install this recording system and software, allowing these three schools to be compatible with the other schools in the district.

For an additional $20,000, the city’s police department will have the capability to view all of the city’s schools.
