Marietta officials will hold a public review meeting on July 13 to receive comments on recommendations for 2017 Community Development Block Grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
This money will serve the needs of low- and moderate-income Marietta residents.
Proposed uses are:
- $222,053 for public facilities projects
- $187,053 for owner-occupied housing rehabilitation and reconstruction
- $68,324 for program administration, including salaries, benefits, operating expenses, travel/training, supplies and equipment
- $51,243 for public service projects
- $37,232 for Marietta YELLS, a youth intervention and empowerment program in the Franklin Road area, now known as Franklin Gateway
- $35,000 for all costs associated with coordinating housing rehabilitation activities
- $14,014 for the Marietta Police Athletic League (PAL) programs
The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. July 13 at the CDBG Program Office, 268 Lawrence St., Suite 200, Marietta, 30060.
Also, a public comment period continues until July 28 by directing all comments and inquiries to CDBG Program Manager Daphne Bradwell at the same address.
An interpreter is available upon request to assist persons with limited English proficiency.
