Marietta officials are seeking to hire up to 18 assistant summer camp coaches and counselors for their Police Athletics/Activities League.

March 1 at 11:59 p.m. is the deadline for applying for these part-time jobs that pay $8 to $10 per hour, working 20 to 35 hours a week during part of the summer.

Work hours will be between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, May 28 to July 19.

The PAL Summer Camp will provide a safe haven for youths in the first through twelfth grades at the Lawrence Street Recreation Center, 510 Lawrence St., Marietta to help them develop a sense of belonging, competence and confidence.

Applicants must be pre-approved by the Marietta Police Department and be able to pass a thorough criminal background check and drug screen.

Five shifts are available:

  • 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. - 1 part-time shift.
  • 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. - 6 part-time shifts.
  • 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - 5 part-time shifts.
  • 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. - 4 part-time shifts.
  • 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. - 2 part-time shifts.
