Marietta to re-open Marietta Fire Museum

The Marietta Fire Museum, 112 Haynes St., will re-open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 27 after being closed for remodeling since September. The museum will re-open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the unveiling of the Ford Falcon Chief’s vehicle at 10 a.m. and an open house until 2 p.m. All fire apparatus at Station 51 will be on display from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Squad 52 will perform extrication-tool demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

With free admission, the museum has many items on display used by the Marietta Fire Department since the 1800s. Those items include fire service clothing, equipment and antique apparatus. Self-guided tours will be available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.
