Until 11:59 p.m. May 5, applications will be accepted for up to 11 seasonal part-time positions for the PAL Summer Camp sponsored by the Marietta Police Athletic League.

Marietta PAL’s mission is to prevent juvenile crime and violence by providing civic, athletic, recreational and educational opportunities to create trust and build understanding between officers and youths.

The PAL Summer Camp will provide a safe haven for youths in first through 12th grades at the Lawrence Street Recreation Center, according to a city statement.

Goals of the PAL Summer camp are to empower youths with an increased knowledge of health, fitness, sports and recreation while also helping them improve in academics, leadership development, teamwork and self-esteem.

Assistant summer camp coach/counselors will help the Summer Camp Coordinator and Lead Summer Camp Coach/Counselor plan and implement all of the camp’s programs and activities to include health, fitness, sports, recreation, academic sessions, field trips, daily meals and parent participation.
