The Marietta City Council on Wednesday decided to push back a vote to April 8 on term limits for future mayor and city council posts. Ward 1 council member Stuart Fleming proposed changing unlimited terms to three four-year terms for council members and two four-year terms for mayor. The motion also included changing terms of office to staggered terms. Currently, the mayor and seven council posts come up for a vote every four years.
The next election will be in 2017.
