Marietta appoints West Side Elementary School principal

The Marietta Board of Education named Daniel McGuire as the principal of West Side Elementary, beginning July 1.

He is the principal of Montgomery Elementary in the DeKalb County School System.

McGuire has been a teacher for six years and, on the elementary school level, an assistant principal for five years and a principal for six years.

He earned a doctorate in education from Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida; an education specialist degree in administration from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee; a master’s in education from Mercer University in Atlanta and a Bachelor of Science in K-8 Education at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee.
