Marietta agrees to alcohol drinking waivers

The Marietta City Council voted 7-0 Wednesday to allow the sale and drinking of alcoholic beverages during two special events this year.

Between midnight and 11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, sales of beer and wine next to Glover Park and drinking of beer and wine in the park are permitted for the Whole Hawg Happenin’ BBQ and Music Festival.

Sales of beer and wine next to Glover Park and drinking of beer, wine and liquor also are approved in the park during ChalktoberFest on Oct. 10 and 11.
