A man and a woman were shot in northwest Atlanta on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The incident occurred after an argument with a man at a Subway restaurant at Northside Drive and Markham Street. As the man and woman left, a round was fired that hit them both. The man was shot in the leg and the woman in the arm, Atlanta police spokesman Officer John Chafee said.

It appears that the man involved in the argument shot the victims, he said. The suspect remains at large.

The victims were transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Police said it was unclear if the victim had been headed to the Falcons game at the nearby Georgia Dome when the shooting occurred.

The investigation is continuing.
