A man accused of shooting an Atlanta police officer in the face in 2013 has been sentenced to 20 years behind bars, the Fulton County District Attorney said.

Frank Nance, 23, of Atlanta, pleaded guilty in December to charges related to the January 2013 shooting of Atlanta Police Officer Reginald Robinson.

Robinson was shot in the face while investigating possible drug activity in southwest Atlanta, near the intersection of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard and Lee Street.

Court records showed that Nance has been in and out of the Fulton County Jail several times over the last four years, autorities said.

Nance will serve every day of the sentence without the possibility of parole, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Tom Campbell said.
