Police are searching for suspects after a man was stabbed during a robbery at a DeKalb County hotel early Tuesday morning, police said.

The 59-year-old victim was in a hotel room with two people at the A2B Budget Hotel on Ember Drive, DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer said.

Just after 2:30 a.m., they attacked the man, and one of them stabbed him with a pocket knife, Spencer said. They also took his phone and money.

The victim was taken to the hospital with “moderate injuries,” Spencer said.

Police said the attackers left the area before officers arrived.

Investigators are still tying to determine why the victim was in the hotel room.

The hotel is located in Panthersville, just south of I-20 at its interchange with Candler Road.
