A man was shot in Johns Creek on Friday night, police said.

The incident happened at an auto repair store on Jones Bridge Road around 8:30 p.m., police spokeswoman Rosemary Taylor told the AJC.

"This kind of occurrence is very rare in Johns Creek," she said.

The man was shot twice in the chest and once or twice in the legs, police told Channel 2 Action News.

He drove himself, or was driven, to a fire station on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell, where he reported that he had been shot, Channel 2 said. As Johns Creek police arrived on the scene to investigate reports of shots fired, Roswell police called them about the victim.

The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, Taylor told the AJC.

The investigation is continuing.
