Man killed in wreck near downtown Marietta identified

May 8, 2013A Roswell man was killed early Wednesday when the sport utility vehicle he was driving wrecked near the Marietta square.
The wreck happened shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Whitlock Avenue at Winn Street, just west of downtown Marietta.
Marietta police spokesman Michael Gardner said Craig Morrissey, 45, was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee eastbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control and left the roadway.
The Jeep overturned and struck a tree, killing the Morrissey instantly, Gardner said.
