The man who died in a house fire early Tuesday in southeast Atlanta has been identified as Garry Pride, 63, of Atlanta.
Atlanta fire spokeswoman Janet Ward said the fire broke out before daybreak in a home on Lawton Avenue in West End.
“A man was pulled from the fire with burns and smoke inhalation,” Ward said in an e-mail. “Despite CPR, he died.”
Channel 2 Action News reported that firefighters found a small fire in a bathroom that was quickly doused, and during a search of the home, found the victim in a bedroom.
