Man killed in forklift accident in Austell
An Atlanta man was killed in a forklift accident in Austell on Thursday morning, Cobb County police said.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. at a business in the 3000 block of Humphries Hill Road.
Austell officers found 40-year-old Calvin Carter dead underneath a forklift, Cobb police Officer Mike Bowman said in a news release.
Cobb police were called to assist the Austell Police Department. A preliminary investigation by Cobb detectives indicated that the forklift, which was elevated on jacks, fell while Carter was working on it.
No foul play is suspected, Bowman said.
