One person is dead and another is recovering from gunshot wounds after an early morning shooting along I-85 South near Old National Highway.
College Park police say they got a call at 3:38 a.m. about a shooting and single-car accident involving a light blue Ford Crown Victoria.
Police say shots were fired at the Crown Victoria by someone in a passing vehicle. Two of the four males in the car were shot, police said.
They were both taken to area hospitals, where one was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and the other was listed in serious condition before he died.
The dead man was identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office as Michael Walker, 27, of Atlanta.
College Park Detective Jeff Hightower said one person in the car said the group had just left Club Obsession near Decatur.
They reported they had not had any altercations at the club, but Hightower is asking anybody who was at the club, who was traveling in the area of I-85 or I-285 near Old National Highway at that time, or who witnessed the shooting or the accident to call 404-761-3131 or 404-768-8664.
