Call him the Cookie Monster.

Michael La'Don Cobb, 23, was arrested Thursday on a felony theft charge for stealing more than 100 boxes of Girl Scout cookies last year, Columbus police said.

Police said Cobb received 144 boxes of Girl Scout cookies worth $504 on April 1, 2011, and never paid for them. Muscogee County issued a warrant for his arrest at that time but he was not located until a state patrol officer stopped him for a traffic violation on I-185 in Harris County Thursday night, police said.

Cobb was charged with theft by taking, according to jail records. Georgia law classifies theft by taking a felony if the property stolen exceeds $500.

Cobb was released from Muscogee County Jail on $2,500 bond Friday, according to jail records. That's the equivalent of 714 boxes of cookies.
