Nearly 200,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into DeKalb County waterways, over a 30-hour period, according to the watershed management department.

County water reports show a 195,300-gallon spill into North Fork Peachtree Creek from the 2500 block of Peachwood Circle in Atlanta. The spill was reported around 9 a.m. Monday and corrected around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

In December, the federal Environmental Protection Agency mandated the county upgrade its sewage system after more than 800 spills were reported in five years.
