Atlantans are invited to pause and remember the victims of this week’s fatal shootings at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, S.C., at events across the metro area.
Nine people died Wednesday when a man allegedly opened fire during Bible study. The suspected gunman, Dylann Storm Roof, was arrested on Thursday in Shelby, N.C.

St. Philip AME Church: Prayer for Charleston, 7 p.m. on Friday. 240 Candler Rd. SE, Atlanta.
St. Luke Lutheran Church ELCA: Prayer service Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 3264 Northside Pkwy. NE, Atlanta.
Diverse coalition of faith leaders: Interracial prayer service on Saturday at noon, Peachtree Christian Church, 1580 Peachtree St., Atlanta.
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church: Mass will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. at 25 Boulevard NE, Atlanta.
