Authorities have arrested a Lithonia man accused of killing a man following an argument.
Robert Cooper, 26, is being charged with murder in the death of 22-year-old Joshua Cortell Franklin.
The two men were involved in a argument Tuesday night at a house at Petite Lane and Young Road that escalated to a fistfight, police said.
About an hour later, police said Cooper found Franklin at a home on the 5600 block of Thomas Drive near Lithonia, and shot Franklin in the head.
Police said the two men had an ongoing dispute that led to this week's confrontations.
A friend took Franklin to DeKalb Medical Center at Hillandale, where he died, police said.
DeKalb Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Cooper Thursday night without incident, sheriff's spokeswoman Mikki Jones said Friday.
Court records show Cooper was released from the DeKalb County jail on Monday on a $5,000 bond for forgery charges. He had been arrested Oct. 14.
Cooper has been booked in the jail at least seven times since 2001 on various charges, including on four counts of burglary. He also has been charged with drug possession, possession of a firearm and violating his probation, according to court records.
