The Lilburn Downtown Development Authority has a contract to purchase properties at 147 and 157 Main St. The properties are located on the south side of Main Street near First Avenue. Parcel 147 is vacant, and a house occupies the adjacent 157 parcel.
Both properties are seen as strategic for the city and DDA as desirable for developments in Old Town.
The city council unanimously approved the purchase Monday, since the city is advancing the DDA 25 percent of the $380,000 purchase price. The city will be repaid when the property is developed.
