The Lilburn City Council recently voted to approve a Community Development Block Grant agreement between the city and Gwinnett. The city is the recipient of a $600,000 grant with 100 percent reimbursement and no required match.

Funds from the grant will be used for sidewalks and safety improvements on Wynne Russell Drive and West Johns Road.

According to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, “the Community Development Block Grant Program is a federally funded block grant to states that focuses on benefiting low- to moderate-income people by providing resources for livable neighborhoods, economic empowerment, and decent housing.”
