Ever wonder how police officers process a crime scene or search for a suspect? Try it out for yourself at the Suwanee Citizens Police Academy.

The Suwanee Police Department regularly conducts the academy, which allows a few dozen Suwanee residents to spend three months in police officers’ shoes. Between April 16 and June 18, students will get to learn about traffic stops, narcotics identification, credit card fraud prevention and more.

The class meets once weekly, on Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Classes will be held at the Suwanee Police Department substation at 2966 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd.

Those interested should contact Officer Richard Pope at 770-904-7641 or email him at rpope@suwanee.com for more information or an application.
