Learn how U.S. Census data helps Cobb

Educators and leaders of nonprofits, businesses, government and faith communities are invited to the “Guide to Census Data for Grant Writers and Community Analysis” presentations on Jan. 28 at two Cobb County libraries.

These programs will be presented by Anh “Luke” Nguyen, data dissemination specialist of the U.S. Census Bureau.

The U.S. Census Bureau has a new platform for access to data and digital content called data.census.gov.

U.S. Census data impacts funding for education, healthcare, transportation, emergency services and social services, according to a Cobb County statement.

Census results also are used to shape the boundaries for federal, state and local government-elected representation.

Additionally, Census data is “big data” for decisions about philanthropy and small business growth, the statement added.
