A Gwinnett County woman was killed and a man was seriously injured Saturday when the SUV they were riding in overturned several times on a South Carolina interstate.

Young Duk Lee, 76, of Lawrenceville, died after being ejected from a Cadillac Escalade on I-85 in Anderson County, according to WSPA-TV in Spartanburg. She was heading home at the time of the crash, the news station reported.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the SUV left the southbound lanes, struck a metal cable in the median and flipped several times before catching on fire about 2:40 p.m.

Lee, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was not wearing her seat belt. She was pronounced dead at the scene, investigators said.

The driver of the car, who was not identified, was flown to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, state troopers said.
