The Lawrenceville City Council unanimously voted Monday to approve an amendment to revise its parking and vehicle ordinance. The changes allow for no more than four vehicles, including watercraft and trailers, per residential property to be parked, stopped, standing or stored on any parcel of land. Vehicles parked inside a carport or enclosed garage are not be counted towards the maximum number of allowed vehicles.

A waiver from the requirements may be requested, at no charge, when a resident can show that the number of vehicles does not exceed the total number of licensed drivers in the home and that all vehicles are operational.

In addition, all vehicles must be parked on a driveway or parking area constructed of concrete, asphalt, grasscrete, or other impervious surface and any parking area must be directly adjacent to a paved driveway.
