The Lawrenceville City Council recently approved the use of asset forfeiture funds to purchase refresher training on the Zuercher software platform. The training, including two trainers, travel and lodging will cost $9,950.

The Lawrenceville Police noted the need for the refresher course to keep up with ongoing enhancements to the platform and the number of new officers joining the department. The Zuercher software is an integrated software system that allows the department to access one database and is specifically designed for small to medium public safety agencies.

The asset forfeiture program allows the police to use cash and other assets seized from individuals that have committed a crime. The goal of the asset forfeiture program is to disrupt and dismantle the financial structure of criminal activity.
