The Lawrenceville Police Department is hoping to “bridge the gap” between law enforcement and the public by holding a forum Jan. 19.

The “Bridge the Gap” forum will be the first event of its kind from the department. Jeff Dickerson of public relations agency Dickerson Communications will moderate the forum, which will feature a panel of “two law enforcement officials and two civic members,” according to a release. It will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 at Lawrenceville City Hall.

The goal of the forum is to “establish communications with citizens, strengthen community and police relations and discuss the roles, rights, and responsibilities of both parties,” the release said.

Lawrenceville police expect to hold more forums like this in the future to foster strong bonds between the force and the community.
