Among the many things Lawrenceville city leaders hope to accomplish in the new year, the city plans to convert Perry and Clayton streets back to two-way traffic. The $12 million project, which aims to also relieve traffic congestion on Scenic Highway and Jackson Street, is part of the city’s efforts to slow traffic through the historic downtown area.
The city also plans to expand the ‘College Corridor’ between Georgia Gwinnett College and downtown with the $30 million construction of a 2.2 mile park. At the same time, the city continues its commitment to improving an aging infrastructure with more than $40 million set aside for ongoing gas infrastructure improvements and construction of a new public works facility along Pike Street.
Lawrenceville has also announced a $4 million investment in roadway, sidewalk and drainage improvements along Park Place Drive.
