The record $1.4 billion Powerball jackpot has millions of people in a frenzy ahead of Wednesday night's drawing. But there are other prizes to be had, and a Gwinnett County man got lucky Saturday night.

Dennis Taimanglo, 38, of Lawrenceville matched the first five numbers from that drawing and won $1 million. Winning numbers from the drawing were: 16-19-32-34-57 and the Powerball was 13.

Taimanglo realized the good news after getting a screenshot of the Powerball results on his cellphone, according to a news release from the Georgia Lottery.

“I was shocked. I didn’t believe it,” he said. “I read the numbers out, then I started laughing.”

He claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Taimanglo, who works in retail, and his fiancé, Lani, have one teenage son. He said he plans to pay off bills and get “caught up with life.”

He bought his Quik Pik ticket Friday at Simonton Shell at 920 New Hope Road in Lawrenceville.

Sixteen other Georgia Lottery players around the state won $50,000 each Saturday.
