A portion of the southbound lane of Lavista Road near the intersection of Fairoaks Road in Decatur will be closed through 3 p.m. today for road resurfacing.

As part of DeKalb County’s $1.345 billion Capital Improvement Program, crews working on behalf of the Department Watershed Management have installed more than 4,700 feet of new water main on Fairoaks Road between LaVista and Oak Grove roads to improve area water service.

Repaving and restriping at the LaVista/Fairoaks intersection roads will be among the final construction activities for project.

Motorists and MARTA passengers that use LaVista Road at the Fairoaks Road intersection should expect delays and plan for extra commuting time.

Lane closure signs will be in the area alerting drivers to the construction zone and local traffic restrictions.
