Laurel Ridge Trail at Lake Lanier and parks that connect to it will be closed for the Buford Dam Deer Hunt, to take place Tuesday through Thursday, Nov. 13-15, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced.

Parks to be closed all day include Lower Pool West, Lower Overlook, East Bank and any park already closed for the season, such as Lanier Park, the Army Corps said on its Facebook page. Parks on the south that will remain open those days are Sawnee Campground (camping only, no day use), West Bank and Little Ridge.

“Please note that this is for your safety, and that parks will re-open on Nov. 16,” the Army Corps said.

The Buford Dam Deer Hunt is an archery-only hunt on 600 acres around the Lake Lanier Project Management Office and Buford Dam and a 32 acre out-parcel at Burton Mill Park, according to the Army Corps. The deadline has passed to be entered into the lottery for a hunting permit for that hunt. Information: https://bit.ly/2PzB0BG
