Four lanes of westbound I-285 will be closed overnight this weekend in the top-end Perimeter area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.

Weather permitting, the lanes will be closed from Peachtree Dunwoody Road to Glenridge Drive from 8:30 p.m. to 10 a.m. nightly, Friday, Aug. 24, through Sunday, Aug. 26. One lane of westbound I-285 will remain open.

The lane closures are necessary to help implement a westbound traffic shift, reducing lane widths from 12 to 11 feet to create room in the median to construct multiple bridges, GDOT said. The work is part of the ongoing reconstruction of the I-285/Ga. 400 interchange in the Sandy Springs-Dunwoody-Brookhaven area.
