Efforts to remove vegetation cut during the dredging of Lake Peachtree are getting closer to completion, according to Peachtree City officials.
The first phase of removal has been finished, and the city’s contractor will use a floating harvester to collect remaining debris. Weather permitting, there is still about two more weeks’ worth of other work left on the project before a final inspection can be done and the lake can be permanently refilled.
The city has authorized the contractors to haul silt and debris 24 hours a day, every day, when conditions allow them to resume.
