A fraternity on Kennesaw State University's campus is under investigation after allegations of student misconduct, officials said Monday.

Kennesaw State’s Division of Student Affairs issued a cease and desist order to Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity while officials investigate allegations that members of the fraternity violated the university’s Student Codes of Conduct, according to a statement released by Vice President for Student Affairs K.C. White.

“The safety of our students is our primary responsibility and we have no tolerance for any behavior which threatens the safety of our campus community,” White said.

The cease and desist includes all chapter operations and activities on and off campus, including all planned events and intramural activities unless written permission is otherwise granted in advance by the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, officials told Channel 2 Action News.

Caleb Mauch, a sophomore at KSU, told Channel 2 he doesn’t see a problem with putting limitations on fraternities.

“In fact, I think it should be more regulated just because you hear so many horror stories coming from them,” Mauch told Channel 2. “I mean, that's not to say they're all bad. There are good things that come from them, but you have to weigh the pros and cons."
