Two people were killed and three others were injured in a drive-by shooting in DeKalb County on Saturday night.

The incident happened on Shamrock Drive, and authorities are continuing to look for suspects.

Police told Channel 2 Action News that the victims knew the shooters and may have been involved in a dispute that started at another location.

At least two suspects in one vehicle began shooting at the other vehicle, police said.

“The driver of the first vehicle lost control and ran up into (a) yard and second vehicle fled,” DeKalb police Lt. A.W. Ford told Channel 2.

One man and two women were wounded and transported to hospitals.

No names have been released.

DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said the drive-by shooting is not related to a crime spree that left a 9-month-old boy dead in a home invasion on Saturday night.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
