Kentucky man killed in Cobb County crash

A Kentucky man was killed Sunday afternoon in a single vehicle wreck on I-75 in Cobb County, police said.

Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce said Gerald Nelson was driving a 2008 Ford F-350 truck southbound just north of Wade Green Road about 4 p.m. when, “for reasons unknown,” he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The truck, which was pulling a flatbed trailer, ran off the roadway into a wooded area.

Nelson, 62, of Somerset, Ky., died at the scene, Pierce said.
