A Kennesaw State University professor has been awarded the 2018-2019 Practice and Leadership Award.

The award, presented by the American Institute of Architects and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, recognizes Liz Martin-Malikian for “excellence in architecture education as demonstrated in classroom, studio and community work, or in courses offered in various educational settings,” the association added.

Martin-Malikian, an associate professor of architecture, will be presented with the award at the association’s annual meeting on March 29. The professor said she was “humbled” by the recognition.

“I take great pride in mentoring our students and helping them realize their dreams of one day becoming professional architects,” she said. “There is a great sense of accomplishment in knowing that my efforts leave a positive impact.”
