Kennesaw will resurface six streets and a walking trail. The Kennesaw City Council voted Monday to hire Bartow Paving Company, Inc. for nearly $513,759. Most of the funding will come from the Georgia Department of Transportation at $273,847.

The remainder of $239,912 will be paid by the city with the walking trail at Swift Cantrell Park to be funded with the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.

Roads to be resurfaced:

  • N. Main Street from 3157 N. Main St. to Jiles Road.
  • N. Main Street from Jiles Road to Dallas Street.
  • Summer Street from Cobb Parkway to Main Street.
  • Rutledge Road from Cobb Parkway to Main Street.
  • Ridgecrest Drive from Kennesaw Drive to Woodland Drive.
  • Pine Mountain Point from Pine Mountain Road to the end.

Also, Lockhart Drive from Big Shanty Drive to McCollum Parkway may be resurfaced if there is enough money remaining after the other streets are completed.
