Kennesaw residents who want to celebrate the Fourth of July with the city will have to wait an additional two months.

The city has rescheduled its Salute to America event, set for Friday, July 3, to Saturday, Sept. 12. Kennesaw’s event is traditionally held the day before the holiday and includes live music, food and a fireworks show.

Kennesaw said its decision was made “out of an abundance of caution for the health and wellness of our community” and to comply with social distancing guidelines.

“The city of Kennesaw looks forward to continuing this great tradition of live music, fireworks and local vendors on the rescheduled date,” the city said.
