A temporary withdrawal was approved recently by the Kennesaw City Council about a variance request for property along Pine Mountain Road and Wellcrest Drive that was submitted by developer Beazer Gain, LLC.

Council conditions are that the developer must establish a subcommittee that will be made up of Kennesaw citizens who are residents of the surrounding neighborhoods and that will work with city staff.

Beazer Gain, LLC is seeking a variance for encroachment into the city’s 50-foot stream buffer of Butler Creek for the development of a road to provide access for a proposed subdivision of 83 single-family houses.

In addition to recommending acceptance of the withdrawal and establishment of the subcommittee, Kennesaw Zoning Administrator Darryl Simmons recommends that the subcommittee will facilitate consistent communication with staff and the community during the construction and buildout of the subdivision.
