The city of Kennesaw has taken additional steps to help reduce the possibility that its residents could be exposed to the coronavirus.
The city’s Parks & Recreation Department said Monday that it has closed public access to playground structures at Swift-Cantrell Park, Adams Park and Depot Park until further notice.
City spokeswoman Rebecca Graham said the closures extend to the Frank Boone Dog Park and the skatepark at Swift Cantrell Park.
Residents should note that the parks remain open to visit, but that the play structures are off limits.

Effective Tuesday, March 17, Kennesaw will close City Hall to public access through March 31.
Kennesaw said its essential services, such as public safety, code compliance and public works, will not be interrupted. Certain city staff members are working remotely.
The city’s main number, 770-424-8274, will be answered and calls will be routed as necessary. Staff members will return calls in the same manner as if City Hall were open for public access.
City residents are encouraged to use online portals for utility payments. The following departments will also accept payments over the phone: Building & Construction, 770-429-4554; City Clerk, 770-424-8274; and Finance, 770-424-8274 (the $3 fee for over the phone payments will be waived during this time).
The Police Department can be reached for non-emergency issues by calling 770-422-2505. As always, dial 911 for emergencies.
Kennesaw’s restrictions follow its announcement made Friday that it would close the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History, Smith-Gilbert Gardens and the Ben Robertson Community Center to the public through April 10.
