The former wife of Justin Ross Harris may testify at his murder trial, which is scheduled to begin in April, the chief prosecutor said Wednesday.

Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds said that Leanna Harris will be on the prosecution’s witness list for Harris’ trial, Channel 2 Action News reported. The trial is scheduled to start April 11.

“We are subpoenaing everyone we think is going to be or potentially could be a witness,” Reynolds told Channel 2. “That’s what we’ve done with Ms. Harris.”

Justin Ross Harris has been charged with murder in connection with the June 2014 incident in which his son Cooper, who was 22 months old, died after being left in a hot car for several hours.

Leanna Harris’ divorce from her former husband was finalized this week. She will use her maiden name of Leanna Taylor going forward, which may require Cobb prosecutors to change their legal paperwork.

“The best thing you do is subpoena every single person who you think is involved, knows about, has any knowledge or potentially could have knowledge about a case,” Reynolds said. It does not mean that Leanna Harris definitely will take the witness stand.

Attorneys for Justin Ross Harris have not submitted a list of potential witnesses.
