The city of Johns Creek has issued a call for volunteers to serve on three development-related city panels: the Planning Commission, Construction Board of Appeals and Board of Zoning Appeals.

According to the city's Board Application web page, the Planning Commission reviews zoning cases and makes recommendations to the mayor and City Council. Nominations close Friday, Sept. 6.

The Construction Board of Appeals decides requests for variances, code interpretation and appeals of staff decisions. Nominations close Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The Board of Zoning Appeals decides cases requesting variances and/or code interpretations on regulatory ordinances including, but not limited to, zoning and land development regulations; and appeals of staff interpretation and/or decisions. Nominations close Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The City Council reviews applicants and recommends names to the mayor. Panel members are nominated by the mayor and ratified by the council. The process takes 60 to 90 days. Information, and to apply: https://bit.ly/2wL2etQ
