A portion of Parsons Road in Johns Creek will be shut down for as long as nine months starting Jan 5. That’s because work crews will replace an aging bridge over Johns Creek. The road will be shut down between Hampstead Way and Stonegrove Overlook, just under a mile west of Medlock Bridge Road/Ga.141.
Residents and commuters will need to look for alternate routes, such as Abbotts Bridge Road.
The new bridge will replace a 50-year-old structure that’s on its last legs, and will be wider, with a 10-foot-wide trail on one side and a 5-foot-wide sidewalk on the other, according to city officials.
