The Johns Creek City Council has approved $240,000 for an engineering study for adding a third through lane to the northern and western legs of the intersection of Medlock Bridge and State Bridge roads.
A staff agenda report to the council describes the plan as a “short term, interim solution” that relieves traffic congestion and will be completed in 24 months. The crossroads currently has two four-lane approaches from the north and west, and two six-lane approaches from the south and east.
The contractor, WSP USA, is tasked with drawing concept layouts for a public meeting, and preparing engineering and final construction plans, among other duties. The work is to be completed within 365 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, according to the professional engineering services contract.
