Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker lined out a new vision for the city during his 10th annual State of the City Address at the Atlanta Athletic Club on April 22.

The city’s top elected official told political and business leaders that the overarching view arrived at during last month’s city council retreat aims “to provide for an exceptional residential community with ease of movement throughout, an alive town center and a vibrant business community.”

Bodker said the council also identified a half-dozen specific goals, including providing a comprehensive transportation network, a complete recreation and parks system, an investment in public safety and a holistic economic development plan.

The mayor also called for increased public engagement as the city prepares to move into its second decade.
