The Johns Creek Public Works Department has announced the completion of its fourth round of neighborhood street repaving, with 34.1 miles of streets in 30 subdivisions taken care of this year.

Crews also repaved five main roads: Addison Way, Lakefield Drive, Parsons Road, Ventana Way and Wilson Road. The work entailed milling (grinding up) existing road surfaces, patching, laying a tack coat, paving with hot-mix asphalt, and rolling the new pavement.

“We are thrilled to have completed another year of the repaving initiative,” said Mayor Mike Bodker. “More neighborhoods are enjoying smooth streets and enhanced curb appeal. The Public Works Department has done an exceptional job continuing this program.”

In 2011, a consultant used a specially equipped vehicle to survey street conditions. Public works staff used that data to develop the repaving plan. A consultant reassessed the streets in 2018, and the city used the updated data to develop a new, five-year repaving program that will start in 2019. Information: https://bit.ly/2BzKvat
